The goal of this project was to reduce lawn and create a woodland garden composed primarily of straight native species to provide for wildlife. A variety of textures and beautiful flowers will provide interest throughout the seasons. Plants were deliberately planted densely  to reduce weed pressure and create a tapestry of living mulch. To reduce compaction and not disturb the soil, a machine that slices the sod into long strips was used.
